In October 2017 Afriscapes, in conjunction with “Climb for Rhino”, hosted a photography expedition to the Mount Everest Region in Nepal. Personally, it was one of the highlights of my photography career and if you are an avid photographer or just a mountaineer or hiker then this is definitely a trip you must consider doing. There are endless photography opportunities on the entire route. The views are stunning, the people are friendly and the food was great. What more can you ask for? We travelled all the way from South Africa. From Kathmandu, we were supposed to catch a flight to Lukla but the weather played havoc and we ended up flying up to Lukla in a helicopter. From Lukla, we started our tracking and over the next couple of days, we visited the towns of Namche, Deboche and many more along the route. My group went all the way up to Dingboche where we spend two nights before hiking all the way down to Lukla again. Below are some of the photos of my trip. Enjoy.
If you are interested in joining Afriscapes on the next Everest Region Photo Expedition please send us an email so that we can keep you on our mailing list and to keep you informed on our next available dates. Next year we will include the very beautiful Gokyo Lakes area as well as a visit to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
