A Scenic Arrival
My journey to this captivating destination began with a flight with SA Airlink from Johannesburg in South Africa. I just returned from a Landscape Photography trip in the Mount Everest Region in Nepal and was able to get on this 3rd official flight to St Helena Island. SA Airlink offers weekly flights to and from this beautiful island. On final approach we were offered stunning aerial views of the island's rugged coastline and beautiful landscapes. Touching down on this remote paradise, I was greeted by the warm hospitality of the people of St. Helena Island and the staff of Mantis Hotel, a true haven nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings of St Helena.
The Epitome of Elegance
As I ventured into the heart of Mantis Hotel, I was immediately struck by the charm and sophistication of its beautiful rooms. Each space exuded a harmonious blend of modern comforts and island-inspired décor, providing the perfect backdrop for my hotel photography escapade. From cozy nooks to sprawling suites, every corner of Mantis Hotel offered a unique visual story waiting to be captured.
Breathtaking Landscapes
Beyond the confines of the hotel, St Helena Island beckoned with its awe-inspiring vistas. The island's rocky beaches painted a serene tableau of crashing waves, offering a perfect setting for outdoor photoshoots. Exploring the historic town of Jamestown and ascending the iconic Jacobs Ladder with it's 699 steps, I witnessed the island's rich tapestry of culture and heritage unfold before my lens.
Nature's Masterpiece
One of the highlights of my hotel photography expedition was the chance to capture St Helena's lush green mountains in all their glory. The verdant landscapes, punctuated by cascading waterfalls and verdant valleys, provided a stunning backdrop for my visual narratives. Each frame reflected the island's pristine beauty and untamed wilderness, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the splendor of nature's masterpiece.
